The Tiphreen

Tiphreens are magical creatures that inhabit different places in our universe... For millions of years!

No one knows when they originated, where they come from, or even how many there are.

You can find them in the forests, in the rivers, in the sea, in the mountains, and sometimes, if you are lucky, you can see one in your house or garden. They are tiny, perhaps no bigger than the palm of your hand, although they can easily change size to be as tall as you are... With a little Donluka flower powder and a few occult words.

They have magical powers and can cast spells and potions to heal you. Sometimes they will enter your dreams and whisper words that will put you to sleep.

They are also great alchemists and expert warriors, for their mission is to fight evil and ensure that life continues to grow healthy and free. The Tiphreens are the protectors of life in every place and time. They defend us from the Gray Cracks who try to end our world by creating hatred, envy and jealousy.

The Tiphreens know the secret language to communicate with all animals and plants. They also speak the language of elves and all magical creatures.

Flavia

Our favorite Tiphreen is Flavia...

She is a Forest Tiphreen and lives in the north, in the Old Oak Forest. Sometimes she goes on long journeys to fight the Gray Cracks and help her friends.

Flavia has a green dress like spring grass and a very big hat that ends in a pink flower. She likes to jump in puddles and always wears green boots. She loves her green and pink striped wool socks, which she doesn't even take off when she goes to sleep! As everyone knows, Tiphreens are very cold and don't like cold feet.

Forest Tiphreens live in tree houses and are usually protected by their mushroom friends. If you want to enter their house, you must tell them a joke and make them laugh. Otherwise, it will be impossible to open the door!

The authors

Flavia ran to the kitchen, grabbed a cinnamon bun and came back to us. She climbed on my shoulder and started eating.

Flavia spends many hours at our house, and when she's not troubleshooting in the Old Oak Forest, she's with us. Sometimes she comes with her friends.

She loves to watch me paint, and when she wants to play a joke on me, she hides my brushes under the couch. Sometimes she climbs on Henry's shoulder and tells him stories to write in his book.

Lola Porras Quintela is an elementary school teacher, painter, illustrator and writer.

Enrique de No-Louis Persson is a surgeon, writer and scientific researcher.

The movie

The creation of Flavia's world, her characters, her stories was a work that lasted several years.

And now we think the time has come to turn hundreds of drawings, dialogues, adventures into a movie.

Go ahead...
